The Book of Lagier is an adventure of such a maniac for world domination..
The story is common as it gets but it artsyle and visuals does make it interesting and entertaining.
In the magical world, There lies the Kingdom of Jerlayla. The Jerlayla family is an imperial family who ruled over Jerlayla Kingdom and has the blessings of Heavenly Ocean God for Centuries.
Now, The next Heir of Kingdom's Throne, Lagier has born. With his shiny sliver blue hair and a pretty face, Lagier is loved by every citizen. Lagier is considered as a Holy angel loved by the Ocean God. They celebrated his birth.
However, This Birth child was not an Angel but a Catastrophical Demon.
In reality, 10 year old Lagier used his authority to do what he desires.
He would kill anyone without any single thought. Citizens would run for their lives after seeing him. No one could question his will.
It's been years, Lagier has become a fatty boy. But, His personality has gone worse. A man named Sol Harter, hiding his face comes over to meet him. He hand overs a Book as Lagier asked for it. A Demon summoning book.
After taking a life of an innocent waitress.... Lagier opens the Red Book to summon a Demon. As he keeps his hands on the Book. The Red Book shines and becomes Blood red. Lagier speaks his will... He wants 'Power stronger than all to Rule over the World'. As he is saying his wish... The blood starting dripping from his nose... Lagier's Blood gets pouring from his body and dies.
The Man rises from the summoning book. The Demon!
The Demon summoned by Lagier was none other than a Demon Lord. But, Due to the summoner's death... Embilden, The Demon lord of Hell gets trapped inside the body of his summoner. Hypothetically, Only one wish to be granted by any demon, But Lagier Lou Jerlayla Rodwill was able to summon a Demon Lord and get two wish granted.
The First was to grant, 'Power Stronger than all' which was completed automatically as a Demon lord. The Second was 'Jerlayla to rule over the World- World Domination'. Demon lord Embilden, will now be stuck in Lagier Lou Jerlayla Rodwill's body until the wish gets satisfied.
Due to weak human body, He is unable to use his physical strength. If He uses his magic to much, Heavenly King and other Gods might notice his powers and come to kill him. It would be shame for Demon Lord to die Human Deah. He summons his familiar, The Demon Dragon Tay Thanatos.
Tay is a demon dragon who has knowledge of everything that his ancestors dragons know. He get a new body a human and joins on the adventure. They have to complete the wish and return back to Hell. Otherwise, The absence of Demon lord will create unimaginable problems. For example, The Hell would collapse, the other demons would cause a war or The Heaven might envade over hell.
But, Fortunately his demon dog and loyal blade, Ray Rivido is keeping order in his absence.
The first mission was to lose weight. They went to military training facility of Jerlayla Kingdom. He meets Hwion, A commoner who has great sword skills. Watching him, Lagier keeps him as his teacher and Orders him to help him in losing weight.
After 6 months... Lagier gets to his perfect look and becomes more suitable for a Prince. Once a fatty pig has become a handsome young prince.
In the meantime... The festival of Ocean God has arrived. The Prince of Jerlayla has to meet the Ocean God to get her blessings. Lagier thinks this as an opportunity to win her since she will be the key in building war ships and cross the ocean. The Ocean god happens to be the Heavenly Fox Angel who was sealed by Heavenly King. Lagier helps her break the seal and Ocean God gives her stigmata and becomes loyal ally for Lagier.
Now, The Demon Dragon as well as the Heavenly Fox are helping the Demon Lord Lagier in the journey for World Domination.
The World is big and Jerlayla was just a tiny part of it. The Quest for world Domination is long....
Lagier visits the Canas Empire and becomes brother with the new Emperor of Canas, who killed his own cousins for the throne.
He even befriends the Queen of Fairies and Obtains the Fruit of Heavenly King...
Lagier indirectly wages the war against the Heavens and becomes famous around the globe.
He makes use of industrialist and engineering capabilities of Canas to generate military power. The existence of magic has led the world on the path of light and darkness.
The story is rather funny and one sided... The king of all demons, The Demon Lord has came to human world in a human body and goes on world domination project. It's bound to be a quick action...
There are still some unknown secrets and mysteries...
Who gave the Book to Summon a Demon Lord?
How can Lagier, The Fatty Pig summon the almighty Demon lord?
How did Embilden git trapped in human body?
Is this a conisidence or a trap led by gods?
Now, That's interesting mystery.
The animation and arts are great and remarakable... The structures and character designs as well the visuals are absolutely stunning.
I wish very manhwa should have such royal touch looks.
You can definitely check this out.
The story is bit lacking but the animation are very promising.. Still we have yet to witness much of the story...
With around 30+ chapters, The Book of Lagier is on my wishlist. Check it out, when you get time.
